2) A letter of invitation to attend the IBMC 2020 containing The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada Special Event Code.

Government of Canada Information on visiting Canada on business

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) International Events and Convention Services Program (IECSP) has officially recognised the IBMC 2020.

To facilitate Canadian border procedures it is recommended that participants present a copy of the official letter of recognition provided by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) - International Events and Convention Services Program (IECSP) to a CBSA Border Services Officer upon their arrival to Canada.

The IBMC 2020 has been registered with The Special Events Unit of Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

If you require a visa we strongly advise that after registering for the IBMC 2020 you request a "letter of invitation" to the Conference. The letter of invitation will contain The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada' Special Event Code for the event. The "letter of invitation" will facilitate your entry into Canada and the processing of visa applications. The Special Events Unit of Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and the Canadian Border Services Agency will have access to a copy of the format of the letter of invitation. The "letter of invitation" will also facilitate the processing of visa applications.

Please note that following the The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada policy, an invitation letter as well as the letter of recognition will only be issued to registered delegates who have confirmed their place in the conference, by paying the registration fee.

Submission of Visa Applications:

Canada does not have a visa office in every country so it is important that delegates visit thewebsite of the visa office responsible for processing their visa applications. Information is available on the IRCC website on how to submit a visa application and the documentation required.

Delegates are encouraged to submit their visa applications well in advance of the date of the event.

Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA)

Visa-exempt foreign nationals are expected to have an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) to fly to or transit through Canada. Exceptions include U.S. citizens, and travellers with a valid Canadian visa.
